A fire deemed as suspicious destroyed a Smithville home Saturday.
The blaze occurred at a South College Street home.
Chief Charlie Parker said the fire appeared to have started in the middle part of the home. The cause of the fire will be investigated by the Smithville Police Department and State Fire Marshall’s Office.
Parker said renters had vacated the home a few days before the fire.
