Pickett County School Board elected Travis Parrot as its new chairman and Wendell Flowers as vice chairman.
Pickett County Director of Schools Melissa Robbins said the board also introduced Hailey Maymoon as the new student representative who will attend and participate in future meetings.
“We are looking forward to working with them.” Robbins said, “And we have a new school nutrition supervisor and a coordinated school health supervisor and that is Ms. Angie Robbins.”
Robbins said the district is now preparing for a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss academic and financial plans related to TISA funding. This plan will be presented to the board for an official vote during the next session.
The upcoming board meeting will focus on how the district intends to utilize those funds to support students across all departments.
