Tennessee Tech will waive application fees for domestic undergraduate students throughout the month of September to increase accessibility for prospective freshmen and transfer students.
The university is removing the standard $25 fee for those looking to take the next step in their higher education journey. This is for both prospective freshmen and transfer students who apply during the month.
“Applying to college is an exciting step, and we want to make that process as simple and accessible as possible for students and their families,” Director of Admissions Jacob Cutshall said. “Waiving the application fee throughout September removes one more barrier and gives students a no-risk invitation to explore all that Tennessee Tech has to offer.”
Cutshall said Tennessee Tech continues to accept applications on a rolling basis for the 2027-2028 academic year. Cutshall said students are encouraged to apply early to secure the best positions for scholarships, financial aid, and on-campus housing.
Cutshall said the university’s Presidential Scholars program provides guaranteed scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $10,000 per year for students meeting specific grade point average and test score requirements. Cutshall said the university offers more than 265 programs of study for prospective students.
Cutshall said Tennessee Tech graduates leave with the lowest student debt among public universities in the state, with roughly half of students graduating debt-free. Cutshall said the university is currently recognized as a top-rated public university by Money.com and a best national university by U.S. News & World Report.
Cutshall said students must apply for admission by December 15 to be eligible for the Presidential Scholars program and submit qualifying transcripts by January 15.
