A juvenile died and three others suffered severe injuries Thursday night after an SUV struck an unlit ATV on Banners Springs Road in Fentress County.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the collision occurred at approximately 8:42 p.m. near the intersection of George Young Road. The ATV was traveling southbound with four juveniles on board and did not have headlights or taillights in operation at the time of the crash.
The press release said a 1972 Chevrolet Blazer traveling in the same direction struck the back of the ATV. The driver of the SUV was not injured in the collision and is not currently facing any charges.
One juvenile passenger died from injuries sustained during the crash. The remaining three juveniles on the ATV were transported with severe injuries.
The investigation continues.
