Warren Announces Willmore as Next Girls Soccer Coach

The Warren County Pioneers announced Todd Willmore as the school’s new girls soccer coach.

Willmore previously coached the boys soccer team. He coached 14 years before stepping away for three years. Willmore said his family talked about the potential move a lot before taking the position.

“The program means a lot to me, so I thought it was just, you know, I think there was some writing on the wall,” Willmore said. “God was leading me in a way to get back and get this program, you know, or get back to the program, so that’s kind of what led us to this point.”

Willmore has coached middle school girls soccer for the past three years with his daughter. He said the relationships he has developed over the years stands as the most exciting part of being a coach.

“I’ve got, just made some unbelievable friendships and relationships along the way and still close to a lot of girls that I coached, a lot of guys that I coached years ago.” Willmore said. “It touches my heart just to see them grow and mature and, you know, young adults and parents and all those things that you, they’re like an extension of my family.”

Willmore said he has talked to the girls within the last week. Most of the Pioneers will return heading into this season. Willmore has coached most of the girls during his time as middle school soccer coach.

“Every coach, I mean I think they would be lying if they told you that wins weren’t important but really it’s more for me, I think success can be measured in so many different ways other than wins.” Willmore said. “I feel like we’ve got a good relationship already and I think if we can continue to build on that, I think the wins will take care of themselves.”

Warren County finished 5-9-3 last season.
