Sales tax collections from December 2022 were the highest in history for the City of Cookeville and Putnam County.
That’s according to Cookeville City Manager James Mills. He said for the first time ever, total county sales tax collection exceeded $6,000,000 with $4.6 million collected in the City of Cookeville.
Mills said December 2022’s collection was some $380,000 higher than the previous record set in December 2021. He said this year’s sales tax collection is up 10 percent from the previous year.
