A Putnam County man arrested in Chattanooga Tuesday for felony murder and aggravated child abuse after a May incident.
28-year-old Justin Dixon was caring for two-year-old Atlas Copeland when deputies responded to the Copeland residence. The child was found unconscious, transported to Vanderbilt Hospital and died the next morning due to blunt force trauma.
Dixon was the boyfriend of the mother Scie Copeland. Dixon was babysitting the child while the mother was at work.
Dixon was indicted by a Putnam County Court Monday which lead to his arrest. Dixon will appear in court on January 23rd and is held with no bond.
