Gov. Lee, TDEC Names Cookeville Recipient Of $17.5M Loan For Water Improvements

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conversation named City of Cookeville a recipient of a $17.5 million loan for water infrastructure improvements.

The loan for the City of Cookeville comes from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Loan Program. It addresses improvements to the water treatment system and has a 20-year term at 1.07 percent interest.

TDEC Commissioner David Salyers said that these loans provide affordability for vital infrastructure needs. The loan is one of two approved by the Tennessee Local Development Authority, with loans for Smyrna and Cookeville totaling $20 million.
