Cookeville’s Melinda Keifer To Retire, Move To Part-Time Basis

Cookeville’s Economic and Community Development Coordinator Melinda Keifer will retire at the end of April.

Keifer began at the department in 2010 after an extensive career with the State Department of Economic and Community Development. City Manager James Mills said that Keifer will continue on a part-time basis assisting in  Cookeville’s economic development needs works through this change.

“Melinda Keifer has done an exceptional job for the City as well as Putnam County during her tenure,” Mills said. “She has worked diligently to help bring multiple projects to fruition, which created numerous jobs and positive economic impacts for our community. Her professionalism and hospitality have been evident with all interactions from the local level to the developers and maintaining a great working environment with the State. We appreciate Melinda’s dedication to her hometown and all that she has done as an advocate for the city of Cookeville.”

Keifer said she looks forward to spending more time with her grandkids and spending time at the family farm.
