Three Clay County Utility Districts are working on project scorecards to gain some of the county’s ARP TDEC money.
They include the Celina Utility District, North Overton Utility District and Northwest Clay Utility District. County Executive Dale Reagan said the county has about $3 million to allocate.
“My first and main priority is that if we have citizens out there that don’t have potable water that’s what I told them that I want to make sure if there is anyway possible that we can get water to those people that need water, because this is an opportunity that we probably won’t have anymore,” Reagan said.
Reagan said so far from his conversations, the three utility districts seem in favor of the water extensions. Reagan said utility districts will report to him the communities most in need to move forward.
TDEC requires the scorecard to find the most cost-effective areas of focus and consider projects for approval. Reagan said he does not have a timeline of when scorecards would be submitted.
