White Co Outdoor Basketball Courts Need More Work On Surface

The White County basketball courts near its high school will need further surface work after a sealed crack has reappeared.

County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson said he has contacted the company that conducted the original resurfacing to assess the court.

“I’ve not got a report from them yet on how they’re going to move forward, but it’s just an eye sore if that makes sense,” Robinson said. “Structurally it’s fine. It’s just an eye sore. Doesn’t look good and we need to get that fixed.”

The courts were resurfaced last year. Robinson said rain and freezing temperatures made the crack visible once again. Robinson said he believes that the company would cover the cost.

“Same thing with potholes on the road,” Robinson said. “When water finds a crack and can seep down in there, and then it freezes and expands.”
