The Oak Tree Tower public hosing project has began framing with a completion date of June 2021.
Highland Residential Services Executive Director Dow Harris said the low income midrise apartment complex fell behind schedule last spring, but the contractor should gain ground in the coming months.
“All the concrete pad and foundation is in,” Harris said. “The elevator shafts and walls are in. So, they have started the framing. We are going to start seeing some physical structures start coming up out of the ground, which will move rather quickly.”
Harris said he will meet with the engineers and architects Friday for an internal meeting. A public meeting will be held in the coming months for residents seeking more information about the public housing project.
