Friday COVID-19 Case Count At 181

Just 228 new COVID-19 cases were reported statewide in Friday’s report from the Tennessee Department Of Health.

The trend continues what has been seen all week by state officials who said social distancing and staying at home continues to work. Governor Bill Lee said Thursday citizens cannot let up over the Easter weekend.

Across the Upper Cumberland, the Friday total stands at 181 cases.

Putnam County’s total increased to 84 positive cases. For the first time Friday, the state reported 16 of those people have recovered. Five of the 39 Cumberland County patients have recovered.

Also Friday, the state began reporting facilities for the aging where more than two positive tests had occurred. Algood’s Signature Health Care and Macon County’s White House Assisted Living were two of the ten.

Pickett and Van Buren Counties remain two of just five counties statewide without a reported case.

The Tennessee Department Of Health reported no deaths across the Upper Cumberland. 98 people have died statewide as of Friday.
