Cookeville residents have to wait a little longer for a dog park.
Leisure Services Director Rick Woods said they are still in the process of planning.
“The dog park is still in the plans. We know it’s going in Cane Creek Park, we do not have a specific plan in place yet. That’s something that we are working toward,” Woods said.
City officials accepted a $100,000 grant July 2019 to build the dog park.
Woods said they are scheduled to discuss the park early this year before breaking ground.
“We should have that done sometime in spring or early summer so we can begin construction,” Woods said.
The park will be Cookeville’s first dog park. The conditions of the grant is to have the park built in two years.
