Additional law enforcement will be at Cookeville High School Tuesday.
The move comes after a note found last week indicated a threat of violence when students return to school from the Thanksgiving holiday.
Deputy Director of Schools Corby King said law enforcement doesn’t believe there’s any credible threat toward the school.
“But I know the sheriff’s department is planning on providing more personnel at school,” King said. “The school emergency response team plans to be there early hours. There will be more teachers at the doorways checking students and talking to students.”
King said custodial services found the note in a restroom stall last week. CHS Executive Principal Max Petett said that the investigation has found no new evidence to deem the threat credible.
“We fully expect tomorrow to be a normal productive school day and do not anticipate any problems,” Petett said.
Officials said students can use the StopIt app to report any information that may help identify the person who left the note.
