Cumberland County Commissioners have appointed a new solid waste director.
Conrad Welch takes over the position after serving as interim director for the past seven months. He served as the county’s facilities maintenance supervisor during that same time period.
County Mayor Allen Foster said Welch will also serve as interim maintenance supervisor until the county can find a replacement.
His appointment unanimously approved by the county commission during last week’s meeting.
