A single-vehicle accident claimed the life of a Smith County man Saturday night.
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the deceased as 38-year-old Michael Massey of Elmwood.
The accident happened just before midnight on Putnam County’s Medley Amonette Road.
A crash report said Massey’s Nissan Altima traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a rock embankment, and overturned. The vehicle came to a final rest after striking a standing tree.
Officials said Massey was not wearing at seat belt at the time of the crash.
