Putnam County building construction continued its strong performance last month.
A press release from County Mayor Randy Porter states that August resembled July with 28 new permits issued. Single-family residential homes accounted for 21 of the permits.
Porter said the 28 new permits totaled $4.1 million dollars. The county collected $18,497 in permit fees for August, compared to $20,274 collected in July.
The county has permitted 132 new homes this calendar year and 847 since January 2015.
