A Cumberland County man will spend the next 17 years behind bars for abusing a Rhea County infant in 2017.
A Rhea County criminal judge sentenced 26-year-old Jesse Lynn Wyatt to prison earlier this week. Wyatt pleaded guilty to aggravated child abuse of a child less than eight years old.
Rhea County grand jurors indicted Wyatt less than two months after the incident took place. The child was seven months old at the time and spent multiple weeks at Vanderbilt Medical Center in recovery.
