A project to pave Main Street got underway in Algood this week.
City Administrator Keith Morrison said crews from Rogers Group began grinding down the roadway.
“They’re grinding again tonight and hopefully putting some new loops in for Walmart, as well as a few other things,” Morrison said. “They should put a new top coat down next week and have that project completed.”
Morrison said the project has not had a major effect on traffic so far.
“We’re doing all the work at night,” Morrison said. “After about 8 or 9 O’clock there’s not hardly any traffic so the impact hasn’t been that bad.”
The Algood City Council approved the $400,000 project bid in August of 2018. cold and rainy weather delayed the project until this spring.
