The Rocky Point Bridge in Putnam County will be closed this week as the Tennessee Department of Transportation begins repair work.
TDOT plans to close the bridge on Wednesday, June 30th.
The bridge crosses Interstate 40 at Sand Springs Road. TDOT said Interstate 40 traffic will not be affected, but people living in the area should make alternate travel plans.
TDOT expects the bridge to reopen around June 6th. Repair to a second ROcky Point Road Bridge will begin on June 6th.
