A Celina man died Friday morning following a head-on collision with a garbage truck in Clay County.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports 38-year-old Christopher Evans was traveling south on Highway 51 in a 1995 Nissan AGS.
The report indicates Evans then merged into the northbound lane, striking the garbage truck driven by 37-year-old Ricky Short, of Celina.
Evans’ vehicle came to a rest in the southbound lane while Short’s truck stopped on the southbound shoulder. Evans reportedly succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
