DeKalb County authorities have charged a Smithville man with arson after he allegedly set fire to a person’s vehicle last month.
34-year-old Jeff Scott Hembree of Halls Hollow Road is under a $7,500 bond at the DeKalb County Jail.
Sheriff Patrick Ray said detectives received a report of a 2012 Nissan Rogue found burned in the parking lot of a Holmes Creek boat ramp. Ray said an investigation developed Hembree as a suspect in the case.
