The city of Baxter plans to pave a few roads recently damaged from water and sewer line repairs.
Mayor John Martin said several citizens have complained about the road conditions on 1st Avenue and 4th Avenue North.
“We are going to bring a paving machine down and do it right. There’s quite a few dips and holes,” Martin said. “It’s not a large amount, but there’s no need in us taking and throwing good money after bad and just throwing asphalt in a hole. We’re gonna dig it out and do it right.”
Martin said he hopes to have the paving project completed before the start of school.
“I know the board has asked me about it quite a few times and we put it off,” Martin said. “We didn’t put it off just to be putting it off. We wanted to be sure that we are going to get this thing done right.”
Martin said pavers have been contacted and work should begin in the near future.
