A two-vehicle crash took place this morning on I-40 West near mile marker 288.
Kathy M. Fannon, 81, in a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu failed to slow down. Fannon ran into the back of a dump truck driven by Steven Jon Hardiman, 54.
According to the report, witnesses recalled Fannon traveling at an extremely high rate of speed.
Both Fannon and passenger Fay Etta Helton, 79, reported wearing seatbelts. Hardiman also wore a seatbelt.
Fannon received Due Care & Insurance citations.
