Putnam County Sheriffs Department deputies evacuated the Putnam County Courthouse Tuesday afternoon after a Facebook threat.
The threat happened just after 1:00pm as someone posted online concerning the possibility of an explosive device in the courthouse. The offices evacuated after the posting.
Putnam County Executive Randy Porter said officials wanted to use all precautions to make sure there was no issue.
The Sheriffs Office deployed deputies and canine units to investigate the threat. Porter said the last room of the structure cleared just before 2:00pm.
Porter said sheriffs deputies will now investigate who made the threat.
