The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has added a Mobile Command Center to its arsenal of critical incident response and event management vehicles.
Sheriff Eddie Farris said the new vehicle will be used as a communications hub during emergency situations ranging from man-made or natural disasters to fun social events and gatherings that may need law enforcement attention.
“We are always looking for ways to improve our Office and the services we provide to the residents of Putnam County,” said Sheriff Farris. “The Mobile Command Center will enable our Deputies to quickly and efficiently communicate with the Dispatch and Warrants divisions and other agencies during large scale events. This equipment enables our Office to immediately respond to crime scenes and provide the highest level of service and professionalism possible to our community.”
The sheriff’s office obtained the vehicle from the Military Surplus LESO program. Farris said he was able to acquire, refurbish, and outfit the entire vehicle for service without cost to the citizens of Putnam County.
