The Putnam County Commission has ratified the 2018 Budget Committee.
County Executive Randy Porter said about two-thirds of the commission members expressed interest in serving on the budget committee this year.
“We had about 15 that wanted to be on the budget committee,” Porter said. “As you know, the committee is limited to 9. It was a difficult decision and I think everyone on the list would make a great budget committee members, but I had to make some choices. The ones that didn’t get in this year, we’ll try to work them in next year.”
The Committee likely won’t begin their work until the Spring. The deadline to have budgets turned into the state will be August 31st.
The committee members are Mike Atwood, Ben Rodgers, Chris Savage, Benton Young, Mike Medley, Danny Morphew, Jerry Ford, Jim Martin, and Bob Duncan.
Ford, Medley, and Young served on the budget committee last year.
