Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and the Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness have recognized Crossville and Cumberland County as Healthier Tennessee Communities.
The governor also recognized DeKalb County as a Healthier Tennessee Community during a presentation in Nashville last week.
They join Cookeville as the only other recognized Healthier Tennessee Community in the Upper Cumberland.
To be recognized communities establish wellness councils and develop sustainable community wide events and activities that support physical activity, healthy eating, and tobacco abstinence, which are tracked and measured by the state.
