The McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a resolution Tuesday night to increase the levy of its motel tax.
The resolution calls for raising the current motel tax from 2.5-percent to 4.5-percent, which is closer to the state average.
The Tennessee general Assembly will have to approve the resolution in order for it to take affect.
