Volunteer Electric has scheduled a planned power outage for the Fairfield Glade area Friday night.
Officials said the outage will begin at approximately 11:00 p.m. and last about one hour. VEC said the outage will affect about 5,000 homes and businesses.
Officials said maintenance work will be done in order to energize the west Fairfield Glade substation.
