The Cookeville Planning Commission will consider a rezoning request for a proposed 160 unit student housing development when they meet tonight.
City Planning Director James Mills said several residents have opposed the project on West 9th Street and North Franklin Avenue.
“There’s concerns about traffic, property values, noise and lighting,” Mills said. “The planned residential zoning is intended to provide a significant level of protection to nearby properties and also for the property being developed.”
The commission will consider rezoning the proposed property to planned residential development (PRD) when they meet tonight at 5:30 p.m. inside city hall.
