Five people have picked up petitions in Cumberland County to run on the Republican primary ballot for county mayor.
Current County Mayor Kenneth Carey announced earlier this year that he would not be seeking re-election in 2018.
The five people who have picked up petitions include Timothy Clafin, Allen Foster, James Hancock, Robert Scarlett and Ligue Wisdom.
Clafin and Foster currently serve on the county commission. Hancock is a police detective and Scarlett and Wisdom both ran for county mayor four years ago.
