THP reports indicate 73-year-old Jim Dagovanos died on the scene of a traffic accident early Friday morning.
Dagovanos was the owner of Yanni’s Grille in Sparta.
THP reports state Dagovanos was traveling southbound on Highway 111 shortly before 7 a.m. Friday. His Mercedes SUV traveled off the right side of the roadway, hitting several trees before hitting a dirt embankment and coming to rest in a creek bed.
Dagovanos was pronounced dead on scene.
The report stated he was not wearing his seat belt and that could have made a difference in the crash.
