“You can hunt within the City of Cookeville, you have to meet the regulations the TWRA has set out and in any event, you can’t just illegally discharge in a reckless manner or put someone in imminent danger,” Littrell said.
If you’re thinking about hunting on your property, call the TWRA and ask for some advice to make sure you’re not breaking laws, Littrell said.
“I would always, check and call your local wildlife officer and let them come out and look and give you the rules for urban hunting,” Littrell said.
Archery deer season opened statewide last week.
