Officials hope September’s designation as Suicide Prevention Month helps preserve lives.

“Suicide prevention has really come to the forefront of saving lives, we want to educate people that suicide deaths are not necessary and there’s help out there,” Templeton said.
Help and resources are there for friends and family members of those struggling.
“There is help out there, and to educate family and friends that someone’s reaching out to them to help that person get help and to be supportive,” Templeton said.
