The Tennessee Building Commission has approved $2.89 million in funding for a project at Fall Creek Falls State Park.
The money will be used to construct a new welcome center at the park near Spencer. TDEC officials said the project also includes the demolition of the campground check-in station and business offices.
Bids for the project are expected in January with approval of the contractor to come back before the commission.
