Pickett County Executive Richard Daniel said a county employee and a volunteer fireman were fired after they were caught driving under the influence on duty.
Daniel said the county employee was fired after an accident on Herd Ridge Road. That caused minor damage to the county’s litter grant truck.
The volunteer fireman was relieved of duty after an incident on Highway 111 south of Byrdstown that damaged a Chanute Fire Department pickup truck.
Daniel said operating equipment or vehicles under the influence won’t be tolerated.
