The DeKalb County Grand Jury indicted 30-year-old Brandon Allen Tramel, of Smithville, on seven counts of felony tax evasion, seven felony counts of aggravated perjury and one count of felony theft over $2,500.
According to a written statement from the state Department of Revenue, Tramel fraudulently registered two vehicles and five boats with the DeKalb County Clerk’s office.
If convicted, Tramel faces up to 46 years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines on the combined charges.
He was arrested Wednesday and placed in the DeKalb County Jail on $25,000 bond.
