A man died and a woman was critically injured in a shooting incident at a Crossville nursing home Tuesday.
A statement from District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway said William Vaughn is dead. His wife Nancy Vaughn is in critical condition at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.
Authorities believe Vaughn shot his wife, then himself.
Crossville Police responded to Life Care Center early Tuesday evening. Center staff took officers to room 112, where Nancy Vaughn was in the bed with a gunshot wound. William Vaughn was found in a chair next to the bed, also with a gunshot wound. A .22 caliber handgun was found in William Vaughn’s possession.
Officers secured the facility and determined the facility wasn’t in any danger.
