A Sparta road project is out for bids.
Sparta officials want to pave Roosevelt Drive. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a motion allowing City Administrator Chris Dorsey to put the project out for bid as soon as approval arrived from TDOT. A grant from TDOT will pay for the project, so the agency had to approve it.
That approval came this week, Dorsey said. The bids to pave Roosevelt Drive are due back July 20.
Earlier this month, Dorsey said the city had hoped to have the project completed before school went back into session. Thursday, Dorsey said now he hopes the paving can be done during White County Schools’ fall break.
Roosevelt Drive is near White County High School.
