The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the Rock Island man who was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday night.
The THP says 36-year-old Paul T. Ward was standing beside a disabled vehicle when he was struck by an oncoming 2008 Toyota.
The driver of the Toyota was identified as 23-year-old Sarah Simmons. The report states that the disabled vehicle did not have any lights on and that Simmons did not see the victim until it was too late.
Ward was pronounced dead at the scene. The highway patrol did not issue any citations or charges.
