Gainesboro officials approved a new ordinance that restricts data processing facilities to industrial zones within the town.
Mayor Ricky Head said the measure establishes a formal definition for data processing facilities to ensure they are located in appropriate areas. Head said the Gainesboro Regional Planning Commission recommended the change to manage how these businesses operate within the town limits.
The Board of Aldermen passed the ordinance on second reading.
