Negotiators took a Van Buren County shooting suspect into custody Thursday following a standoff in Ridgetop.
Robertson County Sheriff’s Office said that Greenbrier police officers identified a vehicle around 1:46 p.m. driven by 41-year-old Albert Humphries. Officials said Humphries was wanted on charges of possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and felony violation of probation.
“Humphries then stated he was ‘experiencing an episode’ and refused to comply with commands to exit the vehicle,” officials said.
Officials said Greenbrier police requested assistance from the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team and Negotiations Team because of the warrants and information indicating the suspect may be armed.
Authorities took Humphries into custody without further incident following negotiations.
Officials said in a press release that Humphries was booked into the Robertson County Detention Facility.
The bond for Humphries will be released after the booking process is complete.
