The Putnam County Commission elected David Andrews as its new chairman and Danny Holmes as chairman pro tem.
Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter said the commission must reappoint all committees and boards every four years. Porter said the lengthy agenda for the reorganization meeting is typical for the start of a new term.
The commission also selected Kathy Dunn to serve as parliamentarian. These leadership roles were filled by acclamation following recommendations from the nominating committee.
“You’ve been a good chairman,” Andrews said to the outgoing leadership. “I told them off, probably will make a few mistakes, but we will move on.”
The commission approved several other appointments to various boards, including the Audit Committee, the Agricultural Extension Committee, and the Animal Control Board.
The Awards Committee met immediately following the adjournment of the full commission meeting.
