Putnam County School System is launching its annual districtwide Back to School Bash events starting Monday to help students and families prepare for the upcoming school year.
School officials said the annual tradition gives students and parents a chance to connect with teachers and staff before the first day of classes. School officials said parents are encouraged to attend the specific event scheduled for their child’s school.
The events are intended to help students and families begin the new school year by building relationships with teachers, learning classroom expectations and becoming familiar with the school environment.
School officials said the schedule begins Monday with Cane Creek Elementary open from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. and Cookeville High School hosting its Freshman Open House from 4 until 6 p.m. Tuesday, Algood Elementary, Algood Middle, Baxter Primary, Burks Elementary, Cornerstone Elementary, Monterey High School, Park View School, and Sycamore Elementary all host events.
Upperman High School will also host its Freshman Orientation on the evening of Tuesday.
School officials said Avery Trace Middle School, Northeast Elementary, Prescott South Middle School, and the Early Learning Academy will host their events on August 11.
Capshaw Elementary and Jere Whitson Elementary will welcome families August 13. The final events include Prescott South Elementary on August 17 and Upperman Middle School on August 18.
