Livingston moving forward with a stalled project to install directional signs throughout the downtown area and across the county.
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Zach Stephens said the city received grant funding for the project from the Department of Tourist Development a couple of years ago. Stephens said the project had been stalled for some time, but the city has now sourced a company to begin manufacturing the signs.
“We’re really excited about that, and we believe that’s going to be a great investment from a tourism standpoint to welcome visitors, encourage them to stop and spend, spend money locally, and help them find our businesses,” Stephens said.
Stephens said the signage is currently in production and will be placed to direct visitors to attractions and local businesses. The project aims to improve the experience for visitors traveling through both the downtown area and the surrounding county.
Stephens said the Chamber of Commerce is working with the city and Main Street to coordinate the installation. The signs are designed to help visitors navigate the area more effectively while supporting the local economy.
“We have sourced a company that we’re working with on this, and this signage is now in production,” Stephens said. “In that document, you will see the kind of proposed signage and what it looks like in the thicker packet.”
Stephens said the initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the visibility of local attractions. The project had previously been delayed after the initial grant funding was secured.
The signs are expected to be installed once production is complete.
