White County Schools scoring top five in the Upper Cumberland region in 16 out of 17 tested categories during the most recent TCAP testing season.
Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said the district achieved the top score in the region in seven of those categories. Dronebarger said the school system also ranked second in the region in seven additional categories.
“Hats off to the hardworking folks in this room and the people in the schools and certainly our students and families,” Dronebarger said. “It takes all of us working together as a school community and we have much to be proud of in White County Schools.”
Dronebarger said the results are a testament to the work of students, families, and staff. Dronebarger said the district also received a million-dollar high performance bonus from the state.
“White County School District’s hottest school district in the state of Tennessee and our our results are proving that,” Chairman Bob Young said. “And that has happened consecutive years high performance in our our state testing.”
Young said the success of the district is the result of teachers, administrators, and students. Young said the director’s role is to identify what is important and motivate the team to move in the right direction.
“It’s great to know that a little county in the middle of this state is one of the best in the in the whole state at what we do and and I appreciate everybody in the room and and especially Mr. D for for what you’ve done,” Board Member Jayson McDonald said.
