The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22 individuals Thursday in a countywide drug enforcement operation titled “Protecting Putnam County.”
Months of investigations conducted by the agency’s narcotics division. Several types of illegal narcotics and firearms were seized during the investigations. The charges against the 22 individuals include the manufacture, delivery, and sale of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and other schedule II drugs.
Other charges included maintaining a dwelling for drug use and possession of drug paraphernalia.
“Every person arrested in this operation made the choice to be involved in illegal drug activity,” Sheriff Eddie Farris said. “There is no excuse for that kind of behavior, and we will continue working alongside our state and federal partners to ensure those responsible are brought to justice. Our message is clear: if you choose to deal drugs in Putnam County, expect to be investigated arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The operation involved the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Agency, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Tennessee Army National Guard Counter Drugs Division, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Warrants Division.
Individuals arrested include Britinie Leshay Campbell, James David Cooper, Christopher Willard Fraizer, Tabitha Lynn Guffey, Roger Hayes, Beth Mariee Jones, Brent Tommy Jones, Justin Wallace Jones, Jefferey Allen Kirby Jr, Bonnie Lyell, Tosha Marie Murphy, Cathy Davis Price, Kevin James Scheaffer, Michael Lee Swallows, Alex Dailey Thomas, and Gilbert Wennerstrom.
Four additional individuals were already incarcerated, Candice Lindsey, Stephanie Hill, Cynthia Flanigan, and Brittany Clouse.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that two other women, Abigail Litwin and Alexis Marie Sellgren-Feliciano, were taken into custody on active warrants unrelated to the grand jury indictments.
