Putnam County Fire Department crews joined multiple agencies to battle a residential structure fire on Oakdale Circle that resulted in the total loss of a home on Wednesday.
The Putnam County Fire Department said firefighters arrived at the single-story residence at approximately 2:30pm. to find heavy fire in the basement. The blaze had already extended into the main level and the attic of the home before crews began an aggressive interior attack.
The Putnam County Fire Department said the size and complexity of the incident required additional manpower from Cookeville Fire Department and Jackson County District 6 fire departments. The home suffered catastrophic damage and is considered a total loss following the suppression efforts.
Putnam County EMS evaluated one person at the scene who refused transport to a medical facility, according to the press release. Firefighters remained at the Oakdale Circle residence for approximately five and a half hours to conduct suppression, overhaul, and salvage operations.
The blaze remains under investigation.
